A nearly unrecognizable Antonio Banderas tries to "find the ugliness beneath the beauty" as he plays legendary Spanish painter Pablo Picasso in the new trailer for Season 2 of the critically acclaimed National Geographic anthology "Genius."

Also starring Alex Rich (from the Netflix series "GLOW") as a young Picasso, the second installment of the Emmy-nominated series from executive producers Ron Howard and Brian Grazer is chronicling the life and career of the famed 20th-century artist who was not only celebrated for reinventing the art world but also known for being a notorious womanizer.

Co-starring French actress Clemence Poesy (In Bruges, the "Harry Potter" films) as Francoise Gilot, a French painter who had a tumultuous love affair with Picasso, "Genius: Picasso" is set to premiere Tuesday, April 24 on NatGeo.

As one of the 20th century's most influential and celebrated artists, Pablo Picasso imagined and interpreted the world in totally new and unorthodox ways, reinventing our perception of creativity in the process.

Starring Antonio Banderas in the titular role, the second season of National Geographic's 10-part, Emmy-nominated global event series, GENIUS, explores how the Spanish-born artist’s passionate nature and relentless creative drive were inextricably linked to his personal life, which included tumultuous marriages, numerous affairs and constantly shifting political and personal alliances. GENIUS is executive produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer.
