An epic retelling of the Trojan war, "Troy: Fall of a City" is an eight-episode BBC-produced drama that will be premiering in the States in just a couple of weeks, courtesy of Netflix.

Starring Louis Hunter (TV's The Fosters) as Prince Paris of Troy, Bella Dayne (TV's Humans) as Helen of Troy, and Jonas Armstrong (BBC's Robin Hood) as King Menelaus of Sparta, the mini-series, which hails from acclaimed British writer David Farr (The Night Manager), tells the classic swords-n-sandal tale of how Paris and Helen's scandalous love affair set off a brutal war between the Trojans and the Spartans.

Owen Harris, director of the Emmy-winning "Black Mirror" episode San Junipero, helms the first three episodes of the 8-part series.

The cast also features Frances O'Connor (The Conjuring 2), David Threlfall (UK's Shameless), Tom Weston-Jones (BBC America's Copper), Joseph Mawle (Game of Thrones), Hakeem Kae-Kazim (Black Sails), David Gyasi (Cloud Atlas), Alfred Enoch (How to Get Away with Murder), and Lex King (Syfy's Dominion).

"Troy: Fall of a City" premieres in the U.S. April 6th on Netflix.

synopsis:
An epic story of love and war, intrigue and betrayal. When Helen and Paris fall in love, they trigger a chain of events that threatens their families and the city of Troy.

The myths surrounding the Trojan War are over 3,000 years old but have emotional depths and timeless themes of identity, love, revenge and belonging. "Troy: Fall of a City" grounds these primal myths in vivid psychological truth and explores the universal questions of human existence -- how people battle to retain their love and humanity amidst the chaos and devastation of war.
