An ordinary man is put through the ringer when he discovers a rogue scientist has secretly endowed him with strange superpowers.

Check out the trailer for "Higher Power," the upcoming indie sci-fi thriller that's marking the directorial debut of visual FX artist Matthew Charles Santoro, whose credits include working on the digital effects for "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," "The Incredible Hulk," and "Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer."

Ron Eldard, of "ER" and "Super 8" fame, stars as Joe Steadman, an average family man who, after being abducted, discovers he's been implanted with nanotechnology. Now able to perform bizarre superhuman abilities, Joe finds himself being the reluctant subject of a human guinea pig experiment, which may end up saving the world.

Co-starring Colm Feore, Jordan Hinson, Richard Portnow, and Austin Stowell, "Higher Power" is produced by Hollywood mega-producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers, G.I. Joe) and will be released in theaters and iTunes/VOD on May 11th.
