WB has released a new trailer for Steven Spielberg's highly-anticipated sci-fi fantasy adventure movie "Ready Player One," which is offering a better look at its virtual video game setting "the OASIS."

"It's a whole virtual universe," explains Tye Sheridan, who plays the film's main hero, Wade Watts. "You can do anything, be anyone without going anywhere at all."

Based on the best-selling novel by Ernest Cline, "Ready Player One" recently had a special sneak peek screening last week in Austin, TX at SXSW Film Festival where it drew enthusiastic reactions from festival-goers and critics alike.

Stuffed with pop culture references and characters from the 1980s and '90s, the 2045-set action film revolves around a Willy Wonka-esque VR contest in which video gamers around the world have to accomplish "three impossible challenges." The winner will not only be declared the champion but also receive the keys to the whole OASIS universe -- "which means, complete control of the future."

Also starring Olivia Cooke and Lena Waithe, with Ben Mendelsohn as a greedy corporate executive who wants to take control of the OASIS and monetize it, "Ready Player One" will be opening theatrically on March 29th.

synopsis:
The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance). When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.
