Check out the trailer for "Sun Dogs," an offbeat dramedy that marks the directorial debut of television actress Jennifer Morrison, of "Once Upon a Time" and "House" fame.

Starring Michael Angarano (I'm Dying Up Here, The Knick) with recent Oscar-winner Allison Janney and Supergirl's Melissa Benoist, the film, which takes place in post-9/11, is a darkly comic portrait of a young, emotionally unbalanced man (Angarano) who dreams of becoming a military soldier but his driving ambition to be an American hero is suddenly kicked in to overdrive when he suspects terrorists are living in his small-town neighborhood.

Written by "Raoul McFarland" (aka Anthony Tambakis, the screenwriter of "Warrior" and "Gringo"), "Sun Dogs" also co-stars Modern Family's Ed O'Neill and rapper-turned-actor Alvin "Xzibit" Joiner.

"Sun Dogs" will be released next month on Netflix, beginning April 6th.

synopsis:
A young man (Michael Angarano) determined to be a military hero, ends up on a misguided adventure with his family and new friend Tally (Melissa Benoist), which leads him to the most unlikely realization of how he can courageously "save lives."
