The Ranger — SXSW Teaser

added: Mon, Mar 12th '18

Check out the festival teaser for the upcoming indie horror thriller "The Ranger," which is premiering today at the SXSW Film Festival.

Marking the feature debut of director Jenn Wexler, whose credits include producing the Mickey Keating-directed cult horror movies "Darling" and "Psychopaths," "The Ranger" follows a group of young delinquent punks as they evade the cops by hiding out in the woods, only to later find themselves being targeted by a crazed, axe-wielding park ranger.

Co-written by Wexler and Giaco Furino, the film stars Chloe Levine (from Netflix's "The OA" and the indie vampire drama "The Transfiguration") as a young pink-haired punk rocker named Chelsea. Meanwhile, Jeremy Holm, a television character actor who recently appeared on USA's "Mr. Robot" and Netflix's "House of Cards," plays the demented ranger. The rest of the cast includes Granit Lahu, Jeremy Pope, Bubba Weiler, Amanda Grace Benitez, and horror vet Larry Fessenden.

"The Ranger" is currently screening this week in Austin, TX. at SXSW as part of the "Midnighters" section.

Teen punks, on the run from the cops and hiding out in the woods, come up against the local authority -- an unhinged park ranger with an axe to grind.
