Nicolas Cage is a government caseworker trying to save a young mother and her son from deportation in the trailer for the dystopian thriller "The Humanity Bureau."

Directed by Rob W. King (Hungry Hills), the film takes place in the near future where the government has set up a controversial program where they can banish anyone deemed undesirable from the country as the answer to a nationwide food shortage.

Cage plays a seasoned bureau agent who, after a change of heart, sets out to stop the government from deporting an innocent mother and her son (played by Sarah Lind and Jakob Davies).

Written by Dave Schultz (Rufus) and co-starring Hugh Dillon (Continuum, Flashpoint) as the main villain, "The Humanity Bureau" will be released in theaters and on VOD beginning April 6th.

On a side note, the film is also a part of a Virtual Reality project as it was shot in three different formats, including standard theatrical, 3-screen Barco Escape theatrical, and cinematic virtual reality. And it seems a free companion VR app was released today, on March 2nd. More details at

In the near future climate change has wreaked havoc in parts of the American Midwest. In its attempt to take hold of an economic recession, a government agency called the Humanity Bureau exiles members of society deemed unproductive and banishes them to a colony known as New Eden.
