Kyle Gass, of "Tenacious D" fame, co-stars here as the bumbling next-door neighbor of a young woman who discovers her apartment is infested by a small, strange critter in the trailer for the darkly comic horror thriller "Apartment 212."

Penelope Mitchell, star of the short-lived Netflix horror series "Hemlock Grove" and the CW series "The Vampire Diaries" and who will next appear in the upcoming "Hellboy" reboot, plays the young damsel in distress who wakes up every morning with strange bites on her body, only to later discover that they were made by an alien-like varmint living inside the walls of her apartment. Gass plays the goofball neighbor who just wants to help.

Directed, co-written and edited by musician-turned-horror filmmaker Haylar Garcia (An American Terror), the film also co-stars Sally Kirkland and Chris Johnson.

"Apartment 212" is hitting theaters and VOD on March 16th.

synopsis:
Fleeing an abusive relationship, Jennifer Conrad is a small-town girl starting over in the big city. But when she gets up in the morning to find tiny wounds on her body that weren't there when she went to bed, her once-hopeful waking hours begin to take a horrific turn. She soon finds herself trapped in a spiral of sleep deprivation, paranoia and a paralyzing fear of the unseen, derailing her new life and even forcing her to reconsider the option of going back to her abusive but stable relationship. Her only chance is to uncover the mystery of the strange bites -- a mystery that seems to spring from the vacant apartment next door and the tortured woman who once lived there. But is she ready to confront the terror within and wage a final battle for survival before the last, bloody bite is taken?
