Did Paterno knew about Jerry?

It's the million-dollar question that seems to be at the center of the upcoming HBO film, which is tracing the events surrounding the infamous Jerry Sandusky child-molesting scandal, which not only resulted in Sandusky going to prison for a very long time, but it also tainted the reputation and ended the career of his boss, legendary Penn State head football coach Joe Paterno, played here by Oscar-and Emmy-winner Al Pacino.

HBO has released the official trailer for the cable movie, which is directed by Oscar-and-Emmy-winning filmmaker Barry Levinson (Rain Man, The Wizard of Lies, You Don't Know Jack) and also stars Riley Keough (The Girlfriend Experience, Logan Lucky) as Sara Ganim, the 23-year-old journalist who first broke the story.

Set in the aftermath of the bombshell scandal, in which Paterno's long-time assistant coach was arrested for molesting more than 50 young boys over the course of 15 years -- which caused many to wonder how Sandusky got away with it for so long (did Paterno know - if not, how much did he know?), the HBO feature co-stars Greg Grunberg and Annie Parisse, with Kathy Baker playing Paterno's wife, Sue.

Written by Debora Cahn (The West Wing, Grey's Anatomy) and John C. Richards (Nurse Betty), "Paterno" is scheduled to premiere Saturday, April 7th on HBO.

synopsis:
Paterno centers on Penn State's Joe Paterno in the aftermath of the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal. After becoming the winningest coach in college football history, Paterno's legacy is challenged and he is forced to face questions of institutional failure in regard to the victims.
