SYFY has released a brand-new trailer for "Krypton," offering a peek at the show's main villain, Brainiac.

Created and executive produced by screenwriter/producer David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, Man of Steel, Blade), "Krypton" is a Superman-prequel series that is focusing on the early exploits of Superman's grandfather, Seg-El.

Starring British up-and-comer Cameron Cuffe as the twenty-something version of Seg-El, the DC Comics-based drama takes place on Superman's home planet approximately 40-to-50 years before its total destruction.

Well, according to time-traveling Earthling superhero Adam Strange (played by The Vampire Diaries' Shaun Sipos), it seems alien cybernetic supervillain Brainiac has traveled back in time in an effort to rewrite history and destroy Krypton before Superman can be born. Now it's up to the Man of Steel's grandfather to not only save his planet but also the future.

Co-starring Black Mirror's Georgina Campbell as Kryptonian cadet Lyta Zod and Game of Thrones' Ian McElhinney as Seg's grandfather Val-El, "Krypton" is premiering Wednesday, March 21st on Syfy.

synopsis:
Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel's home planet, Krypton follows Superman's grandfather (Cameron Cuffe) -- whose House of El was ostracized and shamed -- as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.
