In the first trailer for the upcoming cat-and-mouse thriller "Killing Eve," former "Grey's Anatomy" star Sandra Oh learns that "you should never tell a psychopath they're a psychopath because it upsets them."

English actress Jodie Comer (star of last year's acclaimed miniseries "The White Princess") is playing said psychopath in this new BBC America series, which is the latest television project from "Fleabag" creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Based on the "Codename Villanelle" novella series by London-based author Luke Jennings and adapted for the small screen by Waller-Bridge, the eight-episode drama tells the spy-versus-assassin tale about a former MI5 operative-turned-national security officer named Eve (Oh) who is hired to capture and terminate one of the most skilled and psychotic contract killers in the world, known as Villanelle (Comer).

British television director Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, The Hour) directs the first two episodes of the series, which also co-stars Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter), David Haig (Penny Dreadful), and Kim Bodnia (The Bridge).

"Killing Eve" is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, April 8th on BBC America.

synopsis:
Killing Eve centers on two women; Eve is a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade MI5 security officer whose desk-bound job doesn't fulfill her fantasies of being a spy. Villanelle is a mercurial, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her. Based on the novellas by Luke Jennings and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Killing Eve topples the typical spy-action thriller as these two women, equally obsessed with each other, go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse.
