Check out the international trailer for "The Bookshop," a 1959-set British drama that stars Emily Mortimer (HBO's The Newsroom), Bill Nighy (Love Actually), and Patricia Clarkson (The Station Agent).

Based on the book of the same name by English novelist Penelope Fitzgerald, the film focuses on a humble British woman (Mortimer) who, after mustering up enough courage to start her own business, converts an old, abandoned coastal house into a small bookshop. She is soon met with strong opposition when a nasty, pretentious art dealer (Clarkson) persuades the other local business owners into thinking that the bookshop would be better suited for the community if it was torn down and turned into a local art center.

"The Bookshop" is directed and written by Spanish filmmaker Isabel Coixet, who previously worked with Clarkson and Ben Kingsley on the 2014 driving-lessons dramedy "Learning to Drive." She also wrote and directed 2005's acclaimed Tim Robbins-Sarah Polley drama "The Secret Life of Words."

"The Bookshop" is due to open later in the year.
