Toni Collette (Little Miss Sunshine) and Matthew Goode (The Imitation Game) play a couple of hippy-dippy scientists who believe they can revolutionize the process of parenting in the newly released trailer for the offbeat comedy "Birthmarked."

After agreeing to participate in a radical experiment in 1977, two out-of-the-box-thinking scientists (Collette and Goode) set out to change the way people think about parenting by raising three genetically different children into becoming a genius, an artist and a pacifist. 12 years later, however, they are forced to face the hard truth that their children, despite their best efforts to make them into "super stars," is no different than any other child. They are simply "average."

Directed and co-written by Canadian filmmaker Emanuel Hoss-Desmarais, who previously made the critically acclaimed Thomas Haden Church-starring thriller "Whitewash," the parenting comedy also co-stars Irish actor Michael Smiley (The Lobster, Free Fire), Andreas Apergis (Channel Zero), and French-Canadian actress Suzanne Clement (Mommy, Laurence Anyways) with Jordan Poole, Megan O'Kelly, and Anton Gillis-Adelman as Collette and Goode's three children.

"Birthmarked" will be released in theaters and on VOD March 30th.

synopsis:
In 1976, two respected scientists quit their jobs at a university to conduct an experiment they think will revolutionize our understanding of human identity. The project aims to raise three children contrarily to their genetic predispositions to prove the ultimate power of nurture over nature. The experiment will reveal little scientific truth, but rather lead to discover the true value of family.
