Well, what d'you know -- deep inside actor John Krasinski lives a horror filmmaker, who until now has been waiting to come out.

Pulling off a hat trick, Krasinski writes, directs, and also stars -- opposite his real-life wife, actress Emily Blunt (Sicario, Edge of Tomorrow) -- in Paramount's upcoming supernatural suspense thriller "A Quiet Place," for which a new full-length trailer has been released.

The film, which is set in an apocalyptic world, follows a husband (Krasinski) and his pregnant wife (Blunt) as they try their hardest to keep their three young children safe from danger. Of course, protecting themselves is an almost impossible feat since now that danger has taken the form of a strange, ominous presence that can appear and reappear out of thin air.

But because this undetected phantom seemingly only reacts to human-made sounds, Krasinski and Blunt's characters are forced to communicate with their children only through the use of sign language and other non-voice interacting methods -- which, in essence, turns this supernatural horror movie into a fascinating silent thriller.

Portraying Krasinski and Blunt's onscreen children are kid actor Noah Jupe (from "Wonder" and "Suburbicon") and real-life deaf actress Millicent Simmonds, who is the breakout star of Todd Haynes' most recent film "Wonderstruck".

"A Quiet Place" is slated to premiere next month at the SXSW Film Festival and will then open in theaters on April 6th.
