After keeping fans in suspense for months, Disney and Lucasfilm have finally released the first official trailer for the eagerly anticipated "Solo: A Star Wars Story," which is a new stand-alone prequel to the original "Star Wars" trilogy, and will chronicle the early exploits of a young Han Solo.

And though yesterday, during the Super Bowl, fans got to see the first ever "Solo" footage, this new extended trailer offers a much better look at actor Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!), who takes on the role that originally (and famously) was played by Harrison Ford. Which are some big shoes to fill, to say the least.

"Hey kid, I'm putting together a crew. You in?" asks Woody Harrelson who plays Tobias Beckett, a dubious character that has been described as Han's first mentor and who is perhaps the reason why Han went from wanting to be "the best pilot in the galaxy" to living his life as a notorious smuggler.

The film went through some serious production troubles last year. Director Ron Howard was brought in to replaced original "Solo" directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The Lego Movie) who were forced to leave the project -- some say fired -- during the middle of the shoot. Though, judging by the footage here, the film has a unified look, despite the fact that it was shot by two different directing teams. Although, Howard will get the only directing credit for the film, which also went through extensive re-shoots under Howard's direction.

In addition to Ehrenreich and Harrelson, the film also features "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke as Han's fellow crew mate Qi'Ra and comedian/musician Donald Glover (Atlanta) as a young Lando Calrissian. While rounding out the supporting cast are Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Paul Bettany.

Written by veteran filmmaker Lawrence Kasdan and his son, Jon Kasdan, "Solo: A Star Wars Story" is set to open everywhere on May 25th.
