Jennifer Lawrence is getting into the spy business. "The Hunger Games" star trades in her bow-and-arrow for a pistol as she plays an undercover Russian agent in the new espionage thriller "Red Sparrow," for which a new 30-second trailer has just debuted during the Super Bowl.

Lawrence re-teams with her "Hunger Games" director Francis Lawrence for the upcoming film, which is based on the best-selling spy novel that was written by former CIA agent Jason Matthews. The premises follows a young Russian ballerina (Lawrence) who against her will is put into a secret government program that turns young Russian women into "sparrows" -- female spies that have been brutally and expertly trained in the art of seduction and manipulation.

Australian actor Joel Edgerton (Bright, Warrior) co-stars as a CIA agent who is sent to work undercover in Russia with the goal of turning one of the "sparrows" into a double agent. So when he meets Lawrence's character he thinks he has found the perfect candidate, only to later discover that she's way "out of his league."

Co-starring Matthias Schoenaerts, Charlotte Rampling, Mary-Louise Parker, and Jeremy Irons, "Red Sparrow" is hitting theaters March 2nd.

synopsis:
Dominika Egorova is many things. A devoted daughter determined to protect her mother at all costs. A prima ballerina whose ferocity has pushed her body and mind to the absolute limit. A master of seductive and manipulative combat.

When she suffers a career-ending injury, Dominika and her mother are facing a bleak and uncertain future. That is why she finds herself manipulated into becoming the newest recruit for Sparrow School, a secret intelligence service that trains exceptional young people like her to use their bodies and minds as weapons. After enduring the perverse and sadistic training process, she emerges as the most dangerous Sparrow the program has ever produced. Dominika must now reconcile the person she was with the power she now commands, with her own life and everyone she cares about at risk, including an American CIA agent who tries to convince her he is the only person she can trust.
