Syfy's Krypton — New Promo: 'Legacy'

added: Fri, Feb 2nd '18

Superman's grandfather, Seg-El, holds up his grandson's iconic red cape in a new 30-second promo for "Krypton," Syfy's upcoming Superman-prequel series which takes place two generations before the birth of the Man of Steel and before the total destruction of his home planet.

"This cape belongs to your future grandson. He will become the greatest hero in the universe," says a booming voice at the start of this new spot, which will likely air this Sunday during the big game. "You have to safe your world. You have to safe your legacy," the narrator informs.

Created and executive produced by screenwriter David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, Man of Steel, Blade), "Krypton" stars up-and-coming British actor Cameron Cuffe (Florence Foster Jenkins) as the 20-something version of Superman's grandfather, an ostracized Kryptonian prince who unexpectedly finds himself thrust into a quest to save the planet's future, as well as to restore his royal family's reputation.

The series, which will also feature time-traveling DC character Adam Strange who shows up from the future (present-day Earth) to warn Superman's grandfather about a mysterious traveler who wants to destroy Krypton, co-stars Georgina Campbell, Ian McElhinney, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day, and Aaron Pierre with Shaun Sipos as Strange.

"Krypton" premieres Wednesday, March 21st on Syfy.

Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel's home planet, Krypton follows Superman's grandfather (Cameron Cuffe) -- whose House of El was ostracized and shamed -- as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.
