If you're into weird love stories that border on the horror film genre, then you may want to check out "Are We Not Cats." It's a darkly romantic indie film about a newly unemployed man who tries to get his life back on track, only to enter into a strange relationship with an eccentric young woman who suffers from a compulsion to pluck and eat her own hair.

Starring Michael Patrick Nicholson (We Are Still Here) and Chelsea Lopez (Phoenix Forgotten), "Are We Not Cats" is written and directed by first-time feature filmmaker Xander Robin, which is based on his award-winning short film of the same name.

Following a lengthy and successful festival run that began with a 2016 Venice premiere, "Are We Not Cats" is getting a limited theatrical release on February 23rd, before arriving on VOD February 27th and on DVD March 13th. In the meantime, you can check out the trailer, above.

ARE WE NOT CATS tells the story of a young man attempting to restart his life after losing his job, his girlfriend, and his apartment in a single day. His plans are diverted when he meets a woman who shares his strangest habit; an inclination for eating hair.
