Living in South Central Los Angeles isn't necessarily a safe and pleasurable experience. But people in the community make it work. The same goes for their children as they face the same type of dangers but try to make the best with what they got.

From Lauren Iungerich, the creator of the MTV comedy "Awkward," comes a new coming-of-age, teen-centric series for Netflix and revolves around a Latino and African-American group of high school friends who are trying to navigate their way through the rough-and-tumble world of their South Central LA neighborhood while also dealing with typical teenage rebellion issues.

Co-created by "All Eyez on Me" co-screenwriters Eddie Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft, "On My Block" features a cast of predominantly young up-and-coming actors that includes Sierra Capri, Diego Tinoco (MTV's Teen Wolf), Jason Genao (Netflix's The Get Down, Logan), Jessica Marie Garcia (Disney's Liv and Maddie), Brett Gray, and Ronnie Hawk.

Green-lit for ten 30-minute episodes, the Netflix series is set to premiere on March 16th. Watch the newly-released trailer, above.
