Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for "Seven Seconds," a new crime thriller series created by Veena Sud, the Emmy-nominated writer and executive producer of the acclaimed murder-mystery series "The Killing."

While addressing the hot-button issues of social injustice, race relations, and police corruption, the ten-episode drama revolves around the attempted police cover-up of the murder of a 15-year-old African American boy in Jersey City.

The series stars Clare-Hope Ashitey (Children of Men), Emmy-winner Regina King (American Crime), Beau Knapp (The Nice Guys), Russell Hornsby (Grimm), Michael Mosely (Ozark), and David Lyons (ER).

Gavin O'Connor, the director of "Miracle," "Warrior," and "The Accountant" and who is currently attached to helm "Suicide Squad 2," directs the pilot episode of "Seven Seconds." O'Connor is also serving as one of the show's executive producers.

"Seven Seconds" is set to premiere February 23rd on Netflix.
