Check out a brand-new sneak peek clip from Marvel's "Cloak & Dagger," the new television series based on the 1980s superhero duo of the same name, which will be airing on Freeform this summer.

The upcoming cable drama, in which writer-producer Joe Pokaski (Underground, Marvel's Daredevil, Heroes) is serving as showrunner, is telling the origin story of the Marvel superhero team of Cloak and Dagger, and will start with their teenage years.

The series stars Aubrey Joseph (HBO's The Night Of) as Tyrone Johnson, a.k.a. Cloak, a high school athlete who finds out that he has the ability to submerge himself and other people into total darkness. He discovers these powers when he randomly encounters and touches the hand of Tandy Bowen, a.k.a. Dagger (played by Olivia Holt, from the Disney series "Kickin' It"). She's a young petty thief whose newly-found powers involve the ability to create daggers made of light.

The clip, watch it above, shows the moment when Tyrone and Tandy first meet and discover their powers, which are somehow linked to one another.

Greenlit for ten episodes, Marvel's "Cloak & Dagger" will launch with a two-hour premiere on Freeform, which is set to air on Thursday, June 7th.
