Brian Cox is not yet ready to retire and give up the leadership of his international media empire. As a result, he starts a brutal war-of-words with his heir-apparent son in the first teaser trailer for HBO's new original series "Succession," which is hailing from acclaimed director Adam McKay (Big Short) and acclaimed writer Jesse Armstrong (In the Loop).

The series, which also stars Jeremy Strong (Big Short), Kieran Culkin (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), Sarah Snook (Steve Jobs), and Alan Ruck (Ferris Bueller's Day Off) as Cox's adult children, is a ferocious portrait of an extremely wealthy and powerful American family, much in the vein of the Trumps, the Rockefellers, the Kennedys or probably even more so, the Murdochs.

Created and written by Armstrong, with the pilot directed by McKay, who is also serving as an executive producer alongside Frank Rich (HBO's Veep), Kevin Messick, Will Ferrell, Jane Tranter (HBO's The Night Of) and Mark Mylod (HBO’s Entourage), "Succession" will premiere sometime in June on HBO.

synopsis:
The Roy family -- Logan Roy and his four children -- controls one of the biggest media and entertainment conglomerates in the world. The new HBO drama series Succession tracks their lives as they contemplate what the future will hold for them once their aging father begins to step back from the company.
