Daniel Radcliffe, a drug mule?

The former "Harry Potter" star is playing an airplane pilot who agrees to smuggle illegal drugs across the US-Mexico border to save his wife in the trailer for the upcoming thriller "Beasts of Burden."

Set over a course of a day with most of the action set in real-time, the film casts Radcliffe as an American pilot who discovers his wife (played by Mr. Robot's Grace Gummer) is in desperate need of an expensive medical operation. He then sets up a deal with a drug cartel to smuggle cocaine across the border. The deal, however, goes seriously off track when the D.E.A. becomes involved.

Co-starring Pablo Schreiber (Den of Thieves, TV's American Gods), "Beasts of Burden" marks the English-language debut of Swedish director Jesper Ganslandt (The Ape, Blondie, Falkenberg Farewell).

The film is coming soon to theaters and VOD, possibly in February.
