The Leisure Seeker — International Trailer

Now, here's your chance to see two great actors displaying a mastery of emotional nuance. Veteran character actor Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games, Ordinary People, MASH) and Oscar-winner Helen Mirren (The Queen) play an old, aging married couple embarking on a cross-country road trip in the new international trailer for the light-hearted touching drama "The Leisure Seeker."

Sutherland, who will next be seen as unsympathetic billionaire J. Paul Getty in FX's "Trust," director Danny Boyle's upcoming television version of the notorious Getty kidnapping/ransom story, is playing a retired English professor who is losing his memories. Mirren is his devoted wife who has organized a road trip that could very well end up being the last vacation they'll remember together.

Directed by acclaimed Italian director Paolo Virzi (The First Beautiful Thing, Human Capital), the film is based on Michael Zadoorian's best-selling novel.

Co-starring Christian McKay and Janel Moloney, "The Leisure Seeker" is due to open in select theaters on March 9th.

The Leisure Seeker is the nickname of the old RV used by Ella (Helen Mirren) and John Spencer (Donald Sutherland) to take vacations with their children in the 1970s. On a summer morning, desperate to escape a destiny of medical care that would have kept them apart forever, the couple astonish their meddling adult children by hopping on board that dated vehicle and dashing down Old Route 1 towards Key West for a new adventure. Their trip through an America they no longer recognize – mixing hilarious moments with others of pure terror -- is their chance to retrace a married life nourished by passion and devotion, but also by secret obsessions that abruptly resurface and cause surprising revelations right up to the very end.
