James Norton, from the British series "Happy Valley" and the remake thriller "Flatliners," plays a not-so-squeaky-clean banker who is thrust into the murky world of Russian organized crime in the new AMC series "McMafia," for which a trailer has been released.

Co-created by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Hossein Amini (The Wings of the Dove, Drive) along with "The Woman in Black" director James Watkins, who helms the entire eight-episode season, "McMafia" also stars David Dencik (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy), Juliet Rylance (The Knick), David Strathairn (Good Night and Good Luck), Faye Marsay (Game of Thrones), and Aleksey Serebryakov (Leviathan).

The series, which is already a ratings hit in Britain, follows the well-educated, British-raised son of a notorious Russian gangster (played by Norton) as he returns to Moscow to take up the family business, while working as a shrewd financial businessman.

Currently airing in the U.K. on BBC One, "McMafia" will make its US debut next month, beginning Monday, February 26th on the AMC network.

synopsis:
Alex Godman (James Norton), the English-raised son of Russian mafia exiles, has spent his life trying to escape the shadow of their past, building his own legitimate business and forging a life with his girlfriend Rebecca. But when a murder forces his family's past to return to threaten them, Alex is drawn into the criminal underworld and must confront his values to protect those he loves.
