Riding the current wave of '80s nostalgia, which was recently spurred from the horror hits "Stranger Things" and "IT", comes a new teen-centric thriller about a group of 15-year-old kids who fear a serial killer is presently hiding somewhere in their seemingly perfect suburban town.
Check out the first teaser trailer for "Summer of '84," the latest outing from 'RKSS,' the Canadian filmmaking collective (directing trio Anouk Whissell, Francois Simard, and Yoann-Karl Whissell ) who were behind 2015's cult '80s retro-inspired post-apocalyptic thriller "Turbo Kid."
The film features a cast of mostly young actors that include Graham Verchere (TV's The Good Doctor), Judah Lewis (The Babysitter), Caleb Emery (TV's Scream Queens), Cory Gruter-Andrew (TV's The 100), and Tiera Skovbye (TV's Riverdale) with former "Mad Men" actor Rich Sommer playing a local cop.
Written by first-time screenwriters Matt Leslie and Stephen J. Smith, "Summer of '84" is set to make its world premiere later this month at the Sundance Film Festival.
