Hulu's new original limited series has assembled a pretty impressive line-up of stars as it takes on a seriously heavy story about one of the most tragic events in American history -- the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Featuring a strong ensemble cast led by Jeff Daniels, Peter Sarsgaard, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Alec Baldwin, "The Looming Tower" is based on Lawrence Wright's Pulitzer Prize-winning 2006 investigative book, which takes an unflinching look at what the U.S. intelligence agencies knew or didn't know about Osama bin Laden prior to 9/11.

Executive produced and written by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Dan Futterman (Capote, Foxcatcher) and directed and executive produced by Oscar-winning documentarian Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side), "The Looming Tower" is also co-starring Tahara Rahim, Wrenn Schmidt, Bill Camp, and Virginia Kull.

The series will run for ten episodes, and is set to launch on February 28th, exclusively on Hulu.

synopsis:
The Looming Tower: Based on the Pulitzer-Prize winning book, The Looming Tower traces the rising threat of Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda in the late 1990s and how the rivalry between the FBI and CIA during that time may have inadvertently set the path for the tragedy of 9/11. The series follows members of the I-49 Squad in New York and Alec Station in Washington, D.C., the counter-terrorism divisions of the FBI and CIA, respectively, as they travel the world fighting for ownership of information while seemingly working toward the same goal - trying to prevent an imminent attack on U.S. soil.
