English magician/actor Andy Nyman has turned his long-running horror stage show into a new British horror thriller, for which a trailer has just been released.

In "Ghost Stories," Nyman stars as a skeptical psychologist who has built a career debunking supernatural phenomena. After receiving a mysterious mail package from a dead mentor, he embarks on a journey to investigate three separate paranormal incidents that each involve unexplained ghost hauntings.

In addition to Nyman, the cast also includes Martin Freeman (from TV's "Sherlock" and the upcoming "Black Panther"), Alex Lawther (star of the darkly comic coming-of-age series "The End of the F-ing World"), and veteran British actor/comedian Paul Whitehouse (The Death of Stalin, TV's The Fast Show).

Co-directed and co-written by Nyman and his writing partner Jeremy Dyson (The League of Gentlemen), "Ghost Stories" is slated to open in the U.K. on April 13th and will then hit U.S. theaters and VOD on April 20th.

synopsis:
Phillip Goodman, professor of psychology, arch-skeptic, the one-man 'belief buster' -- has his rationality tested to the hilt when he receives a letter apparently from beyond the grave. His mentor Charles Cameron, the 'original' TV parapsychologist went missing fifteen years before, presumed dead and yet now he writes to Goodman saying that the pair must meet. Cameron, it seems, is still very much alive. And he needs Goodman to find a rational explanation for three stories that have shaken Cameron to his core. As Goodman investigates, he meets three haunted people, each with a tale more frightening, uncanny and inexplicable than the last.
