The Post — Behind-the-Scenes Featurettes

Go behind the scenes of Steven Spielberg's new critically acclaimed Nixon-Era newspaper drama "The Post," starring Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks.

FOX has released a couple of featurettes for the film, which is currently playing in select theaters but will open nationwide this Friday.

The movie tells the real-life story of how the Washington Post faced a major legal battle with the Nixon administration after they decided to publish the Pentagon Papers in 1971. The "papers" were leaked classified U.S. documents that revealed the government's secret involvement in the Vietnam War and exposed how top government officials knowingly deceived the American people about its ramifications.

Streep portrays WaPo publisher Katharine Graham, who at the time was the first woman to run a major American newspaper, and Hanks plays famed WaPo executive editor Ben Bradlee, who would later oversee the publication of Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein's historic investigative reporting of the Watergate scandal.

A likely contender in several Academy Award categories, "The Post" also features a stellar supporting cast that includes Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Bruce Greenwood, Tracy Letts, Carrie Coon, Alison Brie and many more.

Steven Spielberg directs Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks in The Post, a thrilling drama about the unlikely partnership between The Washington Post's Katharine Graham (Streep), the first female publisher of a major American newspaper, and editor Ben Bradlee (Hanks), as they race to catch up with The New York Times to expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned three decades and four U.S. Presidents. The two must overcome their differences as they risk their careers -- and their very freedom -- to help bring long-buried truths to light.
