A new featurette for Marvel's latest superhero movie "Black Panther" is giving fans a look at the legacy of the groundbreaking comic book character, which is the first black superhero to ever grace the pages of Marvel Comics.

"I couldn't see the Black Panther living on the side street of New York. I loved the idea of a superhero who lives in Africa," says Marvel legend Stan Lee who co-created the character in 1966 with the help of legendary comic book artist Jack Kirby.

"[Black Panther] has to look out for an entire nation. That's a responsibility that other superheroes don't commonly have," asserts actor Chadwick Boseman who reprises the titular role for the upcoming movie, which is following his appearance in the 2016 Marvel blockbuster "Captain America: Civil War."

"Even though he's the head of a tribe, he's a helluva lot more than that," says Lee in the above clip. "As his powers begin to unfold ... that will be a lot of fun [to watch on the big screen]."

Directed by "Creed" director Ryan Coogler and also co-starring "Creed" star Michael B. Jordan as Black Panther's main antagonist, Erik Killmonger, the Marvel movie is hitting theaters February 16th.
