Loveless — Trailer

It's every child's worst fear -- to see their parents divorce. It's every parent's worst nightmare -- to discover their child is suddenly missing.

Acclaimed Russian filmmaker Andrey Zvyagintsev, of the Oscar-nominated "Leviathan," applies these two family-orientated fears in a tension-building thriller that has already won over critics.

Winner of the Jury Prize at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival and the current Golden Globe nominee for Best Foreign Language Film, "Loveless" stars Russian actors Aleksey Rozin and Maryana Spivak as a married couple going through a viciously bitter divorce whose anger for one another quickly turns to utter terror and panic when their grief-stricken 12-year-old son seemingly runs off and disappears.

A likely candidate for a Best Foreign Oscar, "Loveless" is set to make it's way stateside next month, opening in New York and Los Angeles on February 16th (via Sony Pictures Classics). Watch the new U.S. trailer, above.

In LOVELESS, Zhenya and Boris are going through a vicious divorce marked by resentment, frustration and recriminations. Already embarking on new lives, each with a new partner, they are impatient to start again, to turn the page -- even if it means threatening to abandon their 12-year-old son Alexey. Until, after witnessing one of their fights, Alexey disappears.
