Scorched Earth — Trailer

Gina Carano (Deadpool, Haywire) is a badass bounty hunter roaming through "Scorched Earth" in the newly-released trailer for the post-apocalyptic action thriller, which is set in the aftermath of a cataclysmic event that has turned the entire planet into a barren wasteland.

The former MMA champion-turned-action star plays Attica Gage, a notorious bounty hunter who, after arriving in a new shantytown, has set her sights on her biggest bounty yet: Tom Jackson (played by Warcraft's Ryan Robbins). He's a sadistic outlaw who has seized control of a rundown settlement, turning the village into a "safe haven for lawbreakers." Certainly, taking Jackson down alone is a tough challenge, but it's a challenge that she's willing to accept and die for, if need be.

Co-starring John Hannah (The Mummy, TV's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Stephanie Bennett (TV's Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments), "Scorched Earth" is directed by English helmer Peter Howitt, whose directing credits include "Sliding Doors," "Johnny English," and "Laws of Attraction."

The film is hitting theaters and iTunes/VOD on February 2nd.

The planet has suffered an environmental collapse; the air became dangerous to breathe, the water became toxic, and billions of people died. Generations later, mankind has finally re-established a rudimentary society, in an attempt to pick up the pieces that continue to blister in the sun. Attica Gage (Gina Carano) is a bounty hunter with a chance at the bounty of a lifetime: to bring down the ruthless outlaw, Elijah 'Tom' Jackson. Gage infiltrates Jackson's gang, and everything is going to plan until she meets a slave girl who reminds her of her dead sister. With her loyalty to only herself now tested, Gage learns that there might be more to life than just survival.
