From the director of "Soul Surfer" and the screenwriter of "Friday Night Lights," "Miracle Season" tells the inspiring true story of how a high school volleyball team bounced back to compete for the state championship after losing their star player in a tragic motor scooter accident.

Directed by Sean McNamara, the based-on-the-true-story drama stars Erin Moriarty (from Marvel's "Jessica Jones") as Kelley Fliehler, a high school volleyball player who must assume the role of the team's captain when her closest friend and fellow teammate, Caroline 'Line' Found (portrayed here by Danika Yarosh, of "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back"), is suddenly killed in a freak motorbike collision.

Because the real-life Caroline was such a beloved personality at her school, her untimely death in 2011 devastated her Iowa West community. But it also spawned the inspirational slogan "Live Like Line," which became a rallying cry for her teammates and school.

Oscar-winner Helen Hunt, who previously worked with director Sean McNamara on "Soul Surfer", co-stars as Kelley and Caroline's high-school volleyball coach Kathy Bresnahan while fellow Oscar-winner William Hurt also appears in the film as Caroline's father, Ernie Found.

Written by David Aaron Cohen (Friday Night Lights) and Elissa Matsueda (Spare Parts), "Miracle Season" is scheduled to hit theaters on April 13th. In the meantime, you can check out the trailer above.
