Who killed Biggie and Tupac? "Transformers" star Josh Duhamel wants to find out.

From director and executive producer Anthony Hemingway (The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story), "Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G." is a new 10-part limited series that offers a dramatized look at how the 1990s police investigation failed to find the culprits.

Duhamel portrays real-life detective Greg Kading, who was assigned to investigate the unsolved murders in 2006, ten years after the initial investigation which was done by LA homicide detective Russell Poole (played here by Westworld's Jimmi Simpson).

Kading (whose 2011 investigative book "Murder Rap" is largely the basis of the upcoming mini-series for which he also serves as co-executive producer) was ultimately stopped short by a tangled web of wild rumors, dark secrets, and crackpot conspiracy theories.

Marcc Rose, who played Tupac Shakur in "Straight Outta Compton," is again portraying the slain rapper, while newcomer Wavyy Jonez takes on the role as Biggie Smalls. Other cast members include Luke James (Black Nativity) as Sean "Puffy" Combs and Aisha Hinds (Underground) as Biggie's mother Voletta Wallace. While Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo), Michael Beach (Patriots Day), Jamie McShane (Bloodline), and Brent Sexton (The Killing) round out the cast.

Hemingway directs the opening episode, which is written by Kyle Long (Suits). The series is set to premiere on February 27th on the USA Network. Watch the new trailer, above.
