Comedian Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords, What We Do in the Shadows) plays a down-on-his-luck New York playwright who, after being dumped by his wife, is forced to move in with his wise-cracking dad in the newly-released trailer for the light-hearted indie comedy "Humor Me."

Veteran actor Elliot Gould (TV's Ray Donovan, M.A.S.H., the "Ocean's Eleven" movies) plays Clement's widowed father who is living in a sleepy retirement Jewish community in New Jersey when his son suddenly asks to live in his spare room. The film revolves around father and son as they try to patch up their somewhat bruised relationship.

Sam Hoffman, creator of the popular web series "Old Jews Telling Jokes," which spawned a best-selling book and an off-Broadway play, makes his feature directorial and writing debut with the film, which also co-stars Ingrid Michaelson, Annie Potts, Bebe Neuwirth, Priscilla Lopez, Erich Bergen, and Maria Dizzia.

"Humor Me" is hitting theaters on January 12th. The film will be the first release from Shout! Studios, the newly launched film distribution arm of home entertainment company Shout! Factory.
