In the Chinese action-crime thriller "Chasing the Dragon," martial-arts superstar Donnie Yen (Rogue One, Ip Man) portrays a rising heroin kingpin who agrees to work with a notorious police detective (played by veteran Hong Kong actor Andy Lau) as they both try to take over control of British-colonized Hong Kong during the turbulent 1960s.

Loosely based on real-life historical figures, "Chasing the Dragon" is a remake of two classic Hong Kong crime movies "To Be Number One" and "Lee Rock."

Prolific Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Jin (The Last Tycoon, God of Gamblers) writes and directs the film, while cinematographer Jason Kwan serves as co-director.

"Chasing the Dragon" opened in U.S. theaters back in September but will debut on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD beginning January 23rd. In the meantime, you can check out a new action-packed trailer, above.
