Starz has released the official trailer for "Howards End," a new limited series based on the classic 1910 novel by renowned English author E.M. Forster (A Room with a View, A Passage to India).

The four-part drama, which has been written for the small screen by Oscar-winning filmmaker Kenneth Lonergan (Manchester by the Sea), stars Hayley Atwell (star of the short-lived Marvel series "Agent Carter") and Philippa Coulthard (from "Annabelle: Creation") as two independent-minded English sisters whose relationship is tested when they fall in love with two vastly different male suitors shortly after inheriting a wealthy woman's countryside estate.

The book was previously adapted into the critically acclaimed 1992 feature film from the famed producing-directing team of Ismail Merchant and James Ivory, for which Emma Thompson won an Academy Award.

In addition to Atwell and Coulthard, the Starz drama also features Matthew Macfadyen, Alex Lawther, Joseph Quinn, Rosalind Eleazar, and Joe Bannister, with Emmy-winning comedienne Tracey Ullman and Emmy-winner Julia Ormond.

Directed by British TV helmer Hettie Macdonald (Fortitude, Doctor Who, Hit & Miss), "Howards End" is due to premiere in April 2018 on Starz.

Margaret (Hayley Atwell) and Helen Schlegel (Philippa Coulthard) are intelligent and idealistic young women living together with their hypochondriac younger brother Tibby (Alex Lawther) in Edwardian London. Since the death of their parents and despite their interfering Aunt Juley’s (Tracey Ullman) best intentions, the sisters lead independent and slightly unorthodox lives. After meeting the wealthy and conservative Wilcox family on holiday, Margaret forms a friendship with the older and more traditional Ruth Wilcox (Julia Ormond).

When Ruth unexpectedly dies, Margaret finds herself increasingly drawn to the newly widowed Henry Wilcox (Matthew Macfadyen), a self-made businessman who inherits his late wife's beloved country home Howards End. Meanwhile, the passionate and capricious Helen takes up the cause of Leonard Bast (Joseph Quinn), a young bank clerk who is struggling to make ends meet, trapped by his promise to marry his alluring but vulnerable lover Jacky (Rosalind Eleazar).
