Academy Award-nominees Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) and Daniel Bruhl (Rush) portray 1970s German hi-jackers in the newly released trailer for the based-on-a-true-story thriller " 7 Days in Entebbe."

Directed by Jose Padilha, the Brazilian filmmaker behind the "RoboCop" remake and the acclaimed Netflix series "Narcos," the upcoming film -- which depicts the real-life 1976 hijacking of an Israeli airplane, during which two German revolutionaries and two Palestine extremists demanded the release of dozens of jailed Palestinian terrorists in exchange for Israeli hostages -- also stars Eddie Marsan (Atomic Blonde), Ben Schnetzer (Snowden), and Lior Ashkenazi (Big Bad Wolves).

Written by Gregory Burke, the screenwriter of the Northern Ireland Conflict thriller "71," the film co-stars Denis Menochet, Mark Ivanir, and Brontis Jodorowsky.

" 7 Days in Entebbe" will first open in the U.K. on March 9th before arriving in the U.S. on March 16th.

synopsis:
ENTEBBE is based on the 1976 true story of four hijackers who took a plane hostage and forced it to land in Entebbe, Uganda, while they demanded the release of dozens of Palestinian terrorists. The ticking-clock thriller follows the hijackers and hostages as well as the political leaders trying to decide whether to negotiate or send an elite special forces unit on a dramatic rescue mission to free the hostages.
