A New York couple decides to enter into an open relationship in the trailer for "Permission," starring Rebecca Hall (from "Professor Marston and the Wonder Women") and Dan Stevens (star of FX's "Legion" and Disney's "Beauty and the Beast").

Written and directed by indie filmmaker Brian Crano (A Bag of Hammers), the film sees Hall and Stevens as Anna and Will, a long-dating couple who are both seriously thinking about marriage.

So when their friends rudely point out that they never had any other sexual partners before they were a couple, Anna and Will, thinking it would renew their relationship, agree to sleep with other people (played here by Blindspot's Francois Arnaud and Bound's Gina Gershon) before committing themselves to marriage. As one would expect, their decision ends up with serious consequences.

Co-starring Jason Sudeikis, Morgan Spector, and David Joseph Craig, "Permission," which premiered at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, will arrive in theaters and on VOD February 9, 2018.

synopsis:
Anna (Rebecca Hall) and Will (Dan Stevens), were each other's first every-things: first kiss, first love, first and only relationship. Now, 10 years in, at Anna’s 30th birthday party, as Will is about to propose, the couple’s best friend makes a drunken toast, suggesting that they should sleep around before their inevitable marriage. The joke lands like a lead balloon, but the thought lingers until Anna proposes that they try opening their relationship -- as a sexual experiment. Together, they venture out of the purely monogamous boundaries of their relationship and, along the way, evolve.
