Acclaimed English writer Peter Moffat, perhaps best known for creating and writing 2008's award-winning British series "Criminal Justice" which was remade into HBO's hit murder-mystery miniseries "The Night Of," has teamed up with Amazon for a new historical drama series called "The Last Post," for which a trailer has just been released.

Starring Ben Miles (Netflix's The Crown), Jessica Raine (BBC's An Adventure in Space and Time), Stephen Campbell Moore (The History Boys), Jessie Buckley (FX's Taboo), Jeremy Neumark Jones, and Amanda Drew, the Amazon series takes place in 1965 and follows the lives of a group of British army officers and their wives as they are stationed in British-controlled Aden, South Arabia. The soldiers and their families must deal with the rising threat of political violence as well as the heavy demands of military life.

"The Last Post" will run for six episodes with the first three episodes being directed by TV helmer Jonny Campbell (Westworld, The Casual Vacancy) while the final three parts are helmed by Miranda Bowen (Gozo).

The series is due to premiere Friday, December 22nd on Amazon Prime.
