The late, Oscar-winning actor Martin Landau (Ed Wood, Rounders) delivers his final film performance in the heartwarming dramedy "Abe & Phil's Last Poker Game," which also stars Goodfellas' Paul Sorvino.

Set in a nursing home and centering on the budding friendship between a newly retired doctor, Abe (Landau) and an ailing professional gambler, Phil (Sorvino), the film is written and directed by 72-year-old novice filmmaker Howard L. Weiner, who, interestingly enough, is also a well-regarded neurologist and neuroscientist who has spent several decades researching neurologic diseases, such as Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's Disease, and ALS.

Co-starring Maria Dizzia (from Netflix's "Orange Is the New Black" and Amazon's "Red Oaks") as a nursing-home caretaker looking for her biological father and who believes either Abe and Phil could be him, the indie film is scheduled to hit theaters and VOD on January 12th.
