If you play with fire, you're bound to get burned. The same can be said of playing with ghosts that like to cheat and kill.

Check out the trailer for the new horror movie "The Midnight Man," which follows a group of teenagers (played by Gabrielle Haugh, Grayson Gabriel, and Emily Haine) who, despite strong warnings, are shocked to find themselves being hunted down after playing a satanic ritual game with a sinister spirit who doesn't like to lose.

Featuring appearances by horror legend Robert Englund (aka Freddy Krueger from the original "Nightmare on Elm Street" films) and genre vet Lin Shaye ("Insidious" franchise), the film is directed by production designer-turned-horror filmmaker Travis Nicholas Zariwny (sometimes credited as "Travis Z") whose directing credits include the 2016 "Cabin Fever" remake.

"The Midnight Man" doesn't have an official release date as of yet, but is expected to be "coming soon." UPDATE: The film is opening in U.S. theaters and VOD on January 19, 2018.

synopsis:
Alex (Gabrielle Haugh) is a typical teenage girl who lives with her sick grandmother, Anna (Lin Shaye). While searching through the attic, Alex finds directions to a game, which played properly, will awaken "The Midnight Man" (Kyle Strauts), an evil being who will make your worst nightmare come true.

At first, Alex and her friends think the game is harmless fun. It is -- until The Midnight Man comes to play... for real. When Dr. Goodberry (horror legend Robert Englund) comes to the house to check on Anna, he can sense The Midnight Man's presence, and warns the kids that when The Midnight Man comes to play, he plays to win
