Netflix has released the official full-length trailer for their latest much-buzzed-about offering, "Dark." It's a German-language thriller series that has been drawing comparisons to other spooky mystery shows like "Stranger Things" and "The X-Files."

The ten-episode drama, which revolves around the strange disappearance of two young children, comes from the directing-and-writing team of Swiss-born filmmaker Baran bo Odar and screenwriter Jantje Friese, who previously made the 2014 German hacker thriller "Who Am I."

Set in a small German town, the story will examine -- with the help of multiple flashbacks -- the town's dark secret history, dating back to the years 1953 and 1986.

Featuring a cast of German actors, including Louis Hofmann, Jordis Triebel, Oliver Masucci, Maja Schone, and Sebastian Rudolph, "Dark" is due to premiere globally on Friday, December 1st on Netflix.
