In FOX's latest 3D animated comedy from Blue Sky Studios, the makers of the "Ice Age" franchise, WWE Superstar John Cena lends his voice to a Spanish Bull named Ferdinand, who despite his mean-looking exterior is as gentle as they come.

When Ferdinand is mistakenly sent to fight at the local bullfighting ring, he finds himself teaming up with an old kooky goat (voiced by SNL star Kate McKinnon) and a couple of energetic hedgehogs (Gina Rodriguez, Daveed Diggs, and Gabriel Iglesias) as they try to make a daring escape.

Brazilian-born animation director Carlos Saldanha (Ice Age, Rio) directs the movie, which is based on the classic 1936 children's book "The Story of Ferdinand" written by author Munro Leaf and illustrated by Robert Lawson.

Also featuring the voices of Miguel Angel Silvestre, Bobby Cannavale, David Tennant, Anthony Anderson, and Jerrod Carmichael, "Ferdinand" is set to open in theaters December 15th. Watch a new trailer, above.

FERDINAND tells the story of a giant bull with a big heart. After being mistaken for a dangerous beast, he is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure. Set in Spain, Ferdinand proves you can't judge a bull by its cover.
