Along for the Ride — Trailer

added: Fri, Oct 27th '17

"Along for the Ride" is a new documentary profiling the life and career of legendary actor, artist, filmmaker, and Hollywood hellraiser Dennis Hopper.

Featuring interviews with some of his closest friends and associates, the doc mainly recounts the difficult time Hopper had while making "The Last Movie," his seldom-seen, critically-derided 1971 feature film, which was his second directorial outing following the classic 1969 counterculture biker movie "Easy Rider."

Based on personal stories as told by Hopper's longtime pal Satya de la Manitou, who for over 40 years served as Hopper's "El Hombre Invisible" (his right-hand man), the documentary is the first feature-length effort from filmmaker Nick Ebeling.

"Along for the Ride" will be shown during a special Dennis Hopper retrospective event at New York's Metrograph on November 3rd before opening in Los Angeles on December 8th.

A look at Dennis Hopper's life and career, focusing in particular on "The Last Movie," his directorial follow-up to "Easy Rider."
