Check out the U.S. trailer for "The Breadwinner," a critically acclaimed animated drama from executive producer Angelina Jolie.

Directed by award-winning animator Nora Twomey (co-director of the Oscar-nominated "The Secret of Kells" and co-founder of the animation studio "Cartoon Saloon," which also made the Oscar-nominated "Song of the Sea"), the film follows the courageous journey of an eleven-year-old Afghan girl (voiced by Nickelodeon actress Saara Chaudry, "Max and Shred") who must disguise herself as a boy to help provide for her family after her father is arrested and taken away to jail by the Taliban.

Based on the best-selling children's book of the same name by Canadian author and activist Deborah Ellis, the animated film premiered to strong reviews at this year's Toronto International Film Festival.

U.S. animation distributor GKIDS is planning to release "The Breadwinner" in U.S. theaters next month, beginning November 17th.
