When Earth is suddenly invaded by flying warships, a New York police detective (Frank Grillo) tries desperately to rescue his son (Project Almanac's Jonny Weston) from giant alien soldiers in the new official trailer for "Beyond Skyline," the spin-off sequel to 2010's sci-fi action thriller from filmmakers and visual effects artists Greg and Colin Strause (aka the Brothers Strause).

Co-starring Indonesian martial artist Iko Uwais (star of "The Raid" 1 and 2) and Bojana Novakovic (The Hallow), the film is the directorial debut of Liam O'Donnell, a visual effects supervisor who produced and co-wrote the first "Skyline" film. The Brothers Strause, who directed the original, remain on board as producers.

"Beyond Skyline," which just premiered at the Sitges International Film Festival and is also scheduled to play this weekend at the Toronto After Dark Fest, will be released in select theaters December 15th.
