BBC has released a new official trailer for "Gunpowder," a three-part British miniseries that features "Game of Thrones" star Kit Harington as Robert Catesby, the mastermind behind the failed assassination attempt on King James I, historically remembered as "The Gunpowder Plot of 1605."

Chronicling the events of Catesby's anti-government conspiracy, in which he and his men tried to blow up the entire English Parliament with 36 barrels of gunpowder, the television drama also stars Peter Mullan (Top of the Lake), Edward Holcroft (Kingsman), Shaun Dooley (Broadchurch), Mark Gatiss (Sherlock), Liv Tyler (The Leftovers) with "Downton Abbey" actor Tom Cullen portraying famed English conspirator Guy Fawkes, who is now widely seen in Britain as a traitorous folk hero whose image has become a symbol of radical protest.

British filmmaker J. Blakeson (The Disappearance of Alice Creed, The 5th Wave) directs the three-parter from a script written by Ronan Bennett (Public Enemies) and Daniel West.

"Gunpowder" is set to premiere Saturday, October 21st on BBC ONE. As of yet, there's no official US air date.
