Last year after a 14-year long break, FOX brought back "The X-Files" for a 6-part revival miniseries. Apparently, it generated enough excitement and just enough ratings to warrant a new 10-episode season, which is once again bringing back FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) for another mind-boggling investigation that will likely revolve around a vast government conspiracy.

So, with that being said, FOX just had a panel today at this year's New York Comic Con, where they unvieled the first peek at Season 11 of "The X-Files." And the footage shows Mulder and Scully caught in a race against time to save civilization from total destruction. Worse yet, the mission involves Mulder and Scully's missing son. Guess you can say that this time, it's personal.

Series creator Chris Carter is also back to executive produce the new season, which includes returning cast members Mitch Pileggi (as Walter Skinner), William B. Davis (as The Smoking Man), Dean Haglund (as Richard Langly) and Annabeth Gish (Monica Reyes) with Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose also reprising their roles as young FBI agents Miller and Einstein.

"The X-Files: Season 11" will premiere sometime in 2018 on FOX.
