Just how far are you willing to go to protect your family? Would you push the boundaries of science, even if it meant breaking the law?

"John Wick" star Keanu Reeves deals with the legal and ethical ramifications of cutting-edge science as he tries to save his wife and children in the debut trailer for "Replicas."

Playing a brilliant neuroscientist who's been working in the field of synthetic biology, the former "Matrix" star returns to the science fiction genre with a high-concept thriller that explores the moral, ethical, and existential issues of synthetically cloning a human being -- or in this case, a whole entire family.

Co-starring Thomas Middleditch (HBO's Silicon Valley) as Reeves' reluctant science partner and Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness) as Reeves' wife, "Replicas" is directed by filmmaker Jeffrey Nachmanoff whose credits include writing the screenplay for "The Day After Tomorrow" and writing and directing the Don Cheadle-starring action thriller "Traitor."

"Replicas," which just premiered its trailer at this year's New York Comic-Con, will be released sometime next year.

synopsis:
In this sci-fi thriller, neuro-scientist William Foster (Keanu Reeves) is on the verge of successfully transferring human consciousness into a computer when his family is tragically killed in a car crash. Desperate to resurrect them, William recruits fellow scientist Ed Whittle (Thomas Middleditch) to help him secretly clone their bodies and create replicas. But he soon faces a “Sophie’s choice” when it turns out that they can only bring three of the four family members back to life.
